Excision happens by first numbing the skin with anesthetic, removing the tumor with a surgical knife, and carefully stitching the skin back together.
Other options in curettage and electrodesiccation, which remove the cancer by scraping it with a long sharp electrolyzed instrument, and Mohs surgery, lymph node surgery, and skin grafting. Depending on the severity of your skin cancer, different removal options are better fitted for your needs.
